Verify

sha256sum -c sha256sums.txt --ignore-missing
gpg --import le-os-signing-key.asc
gpg --verify le-os-2026.11.03-x86_64.iso.sig le-os-2026.11.03-x86_64.iso

gpg must report a good signature from the fingerprint above.

Write to a USB stick

dd if=le-os-2026.11.03-x86_64.iso of=/dev/sdX bs=4M status=progress oflag=sync

Replace /dev/sdX with the stick (check with lsblk); everything on it is erased. On Windows, write it in DD image mode (Rufus asks), not ISO mode. The image is not signed for Secure Boot: turn Secure Boot off in the firmware settings.

Install

The live system logs in as root on the first console. Wired networks are configured by DHCP; for Wi-Fi run iwctl station wlan0 connect "Network name" (iwctl device list shows the device name). Then run le-os-install for the guided installer, or le-os-install --example for an unattended configuration file to use with le-os-install --config FILE. The installer erases the whole target disk (8 GiB at least).

Test builds

testing/ holds images that have not been released yet. Use them only to help testing.
